Most of you know I very seldom back a team that has lost 2 straight. However, their are exceptions to the rule. Like when that team has scored 32 runs over their last 5 games, and happens to have Dan Haren starting for them. Most of the time when a team goes on a losing streak, they fail to score runs, or their pitching staff gives up way to many runs. With Arizona it has been the pitching that has let them down, not the offense. Dan Haren may be the Remedy to get them back in the winning column. Haren has given up 4 runs over his last 5 games, while striking out striking out 36 over his last 36 innings of work. He is keeping the ball down in the zone, and as a result has not given up a home run in his last 5 outings. Haren will have a solid opponent in Chad Billingsley. Billingsley has given up 9 runs over his last 5 games, striking out 38 over his last 32 innings pitched. He had trouble earlier in the year with the Diamondback offense, losing both times he faced them, posting a 9.72 Era in those starts. The Dodgers have struggled, hitting .181 and scoring 2.25 runs a game vs righties over their last 5 games, while the Diamondbacks are hitting .316 and scoring 6.57 runs a game vs righties over their last 5. If Billingsley hasn't figured the Arizona offense out by now, he may be in big trouble facing this red hot Arizona offense for the third time this season.
