Toronto Blue Jays at Philadelphia Phillies

Photo_mlb FREE Pick: Play ON Philadelphia Phillies $ line (-) vs Toronto @ 7:05 PM ET The veteran Jamie Moyer will be a key in this match-up. Of course it doesnt hurt that hes facing a Blue Jays lineup that simply wont be able to keep up with the potent Phillies here. Even though the Jays are 10-5 this month theyve averaged just three runs per game! As you can see, Toronto has been relying on pitching and thats bad news tonight. Not only do the Blue Jays send a rookie, David Purcey, to the mound; they send him to the mound in a very uncomfortable place as tonights game is at Citizens Bank Park in Philly. The ball carries very well here and walks and homers are never a good combo. This is bad news for Purcey because he walked 7 in just 4.1 innings in his only career MLB start which came about four weeks ago. Now hell be facing a Phillies lineup that leads all of MLB in home runs. The Phils are especially dangerous at home and they bring some momentum into this series from taking two of three from the Braves heading into this weekend series with Toronto. The Blue Jays are likely to struggle with the offerings of Moyer. The veteran Phillies southpaw struggled against the Blue Jays in his recent appearances against them but he had allowed two earned runs or less in four of his last six starts before struggling in his most recent outing at San Francisco. Toronto has struggled against lefthanders this season as theyve hit just .229 against them. Keep in mind that this .229 includes Vernon Wells .333 clip against southpaws and hes currently out for the Blue Jays. The Phillies roll continues at home and Torontos offense simply cant keep up here!
