MONEYLINE: Los Angeles Angels -130
WIN for +1.54 unit(s)
Chicago White Sox at Los Angeles Angels
Play ON Los Angeles Angels $ line (-) vs Chicago White Sox @ 10:05 PM ET As noted in yesterdays analysis: The Angels suffered a frustrating sweep at Tampa Bay over the weekend but they now return home to the West Coast and theyre ready to bounce right backThe Angels have lost four games in a row but this is the first time that has happened in over a year! The Angels did break out of their offensive funk with a five-run performance yesterday but they watched the bullpen struggle and give the game away. That means its bounce back time here. The Angels are happy to be back home and theyve won seven of their last eleven home games! As for the White Sox, they have lost seven of their last nine on the road as they actually had lost six straight road games before taking two of three from the struggling Mariners in Seattle this past weekend. The home/road dichotomy is the key here. Indeed, as we called for yesterday, the Angels were able to get a key win to snap their rare losing skid and we expect another big effort from Los Angeles today. The Angels have now scored 15 runs in their past two games and they have won eight of their last twelve home games. The White Sox have now lost eight of their last ten road games and in their last three games theyve allowed 20 runs! On the surface, it will look like the White Sox have a pitching edge in this match-up with John Danks of the ChiSox facing Jered Weaver of the Angels. However, as noted yesterday, contrarian handicapping can serve a bettor well and this is another case where there is more to a match-up than meets the eye. Danks is 3-2 with a 1.76 ERA over his last five starts. However, the Chicago southpaw has lasted just 9.2 innings in his last two starts and hes allowed 13 hits in those two short outings! The Angels Weaver is coming off of a very rough outing at Kansas City in his most recent start. However, that was on the road and hes been solid at home where hes accumulated a 2.70 ERA this season. Also, the poor effort in Weavers most recent outing means hes very likely to put forth a big bounce back effort tonight. Before his rough start against the Royals he had allowed just 10 hits in his last 13.1 innings of work. Just like yesterdays win, the home/road dichotomy is the key here and this is the AL Blowout Game of the Month!
