Cleveland Gladiators at Georgia Force

  1. GEORGIA FORCE – The Cleveland Gladiators got the home win to open up the playoffs last week but now they have to travel to The Arena at Gwinnett Center to match-up with the Georgia Force on Monday night in a National Conference playoff game. Cleveland did sneak out the win over Orlando last Monday but they really were not overly impressive in squeaking by the Predators in that three-point non-covering win. The Gladiators lost five of their last seven road games in the regular season and they allowed over 60 points per game on the road in their eight road games. Now they must face a Georgia Force squad that was red hot to finish up the season. Don’t be fooled by their overall 10-6 record on the season. After ending the first-half of the regular season with a sub-par 3-5 record, Georgia won seven of its final eight games to win its second consecutive Southern Division title. The Force is making its fourth consecutive postseason appearance and is 3-2 all-time at home in postseason play. In the regular season the Force won six of their last seven home games. Also, unlike the Gladiators poor defense on the road, the Force were quite solid at home as they allowed just 52 points per game at home. Also, Georgia’s home schedule included tough playoff-caliber opponents like Dallas, New Orleans, Orlando, Philadelphia, and Chicago. The key for Georgia’s second half surge to wrap up their season impressively was that they got healthier on offense and their receivers are tough to match-up with when the group has it’s key weapons. The Gladiators gave up 66 points in last week’s playoff win and that was to a much weaker offense than what they will see this week. As a result, look for Georgia to roll right through this weak Cleveland defense while, on the other side of the ball, the Force defense will step up at home once again and this leads to Georgia’s 7th home victory in their last eight games at the Gwinnett Center! Note that Georgia leads the all-time regular-season series 4-1 and that this includes four in a row by an average margin of 15 points per victory. With this line at right around a TD, it’s fantastic line value for the Force! Grab it and let’s cash another Game of the Month selection!
