New York Dragons at Colorado Crush
Play ON Colorado Crush (+) vs New York Dragons @ 8 PM ET – While both of these teams have been struggling recently, a Monday night home game for Colorado is the perfect opportunity for them to bounce back and get right back on track! As for the Dragons, we look for QB Aaron Garcia to have trouble finding much to exploit in an underrated Crush secondary. When the Colorado defense brings their ‘A game’ which they will tonight in this ‘must-win’ situation, they are tough to beat. The Crush defense sees this match-up with the Dragons and a well-known Garcia at QB to be the perfect opportunity for them to shine on national TV. Colorado’s defensive line should enjoy some success against a Dragons offensive line that has struggled with pass protection all season. Also, the Dragons offense is one of the least productive in the league as they simply don’t score a lot of TD’s. They rank 16th out of the 17 teams in that category. Unlike the Dragons offensive line, the Crush linemen have performed well as QB John Dutton has only been sacked five times this season. Dutton does a good job of getting rid of the ball early and finding the open man. His receivers, led by Ben Nelson, are able to create separation in the secondary because of their speed and athleticism. The Dragons are just 2-4 on the road this season and one of their wins was when they rallied for a non-covering road win at Los Angeles three weeks ago. In other words, the Dragons are certainly a different team on the road in comparison with how well they play at home. The last time the Dragons played back to back road games they lost each game and got pulverized in the second game even though they played a mediocre Rattlers team in the second game of the back to back. This week could be a repeat of this as, after losing at Columbus last week, the Dragons now must face a Crush team that plays with a much higher intensity at home. Even though Colorado is “only” 3-3 at home, two of the losses came by a combined 7 points while the other one was to a Chicago Rush team that is one of the top teams in the league. As for the three home wins for the Crush, they have come by an average margin of 17 points per game and another blowout is on tap here!
