Los Angeles Sparks at Connecticut Sun

Los Angeles has not gotten off to a very good start on its roadtrip as it is 0-2 which has dropped it to 0-3 on the season. The home team has been money in all of its games, going a perfect 7-0 as well as a 6-1 record against the number. All three road losses have been by double-digits and while this is the biggest number the Sparks have seen, the situation is not a good one. They will be without Candice Parker who was hurt last game and she is among the WNBA’s top scorers and rebounders, averaging 17.7 ppg and 9.9 rpg.

Connecticut has struggled on the road as well, going 1-3 on the season after having lost both games on its recent roadtrip. Both games were close but costly mistakes late kept the Sun out of the win column. They are 3-0 at home this season and just the opposite of Los Angeles, all three wins have come by double-digits. The home team is 6-1 in Connecticut games this season while going 5-2 against the number. The Sun are playing with revenge following a nine-point home loss last season, one of only five home losses all year.

Like last season, the Sparks’ first game without Parker comes against Connecticut and they were at a huge disadvantage down low as  Sun forward Tina Charles dominated that game with 26 points and 19 rebounds in a 78-75 win at Los Angeles. Connecticut is 11-2 ATS in its last 13 home games as a favorite of six points or less while going 12-3 ATS in its last 15 home games against teams with a winning record.
