San Antonio Silver Stars at Atlanta Dream

Atlanta won on Tuesday as it took care of Chicago to register its first home win of the season. The Dream then followed that up with a dud on Friday as it lost at home against Phoenix as both offense and defense were horrendous. They are just 1-4 at home on the season and have yet to cover any of those games which makes them risky to play as a favorite but looking at the contrarian side of things makes this one a strong play. It is also contrarian when looking at the other side as well.

We won with San Antonio Friday as it defeated Los Angeles in overtime. That came on the heels of the Silver Stars first loss of the season, a seven-point setback at home against Phoenix. They are 2-0 on the road, squeaking out a two-point win at Phoenix and hammering Tulsa, the worst team in the WNBA, by 31 points. One of the wins this season came at home against Atlanta by eight points which sets up a revenge play for the home team. San Antonio is 20-42-1 ATS in its last 63 games following an ATS win.

Atlanta falls into two fantastic situations. First we play on home favorites of 3.5 to 9.5 points after having lost five or six of their last seven games, going up against an opponent after having won three of their last four games. This situation is 25-4 ATS (86.2 percent) since 1997. Second, we play on home favorites of 3.5 to 9.5 points that are revenging a double-digit loss and with the opponents coming  off an home win scoring 85 or more points. This situation is 22-4 ATS (84.6 percent) since 1997. 10* (652) Atlanta Dream

New York Liberty @ Atlanta Dream Tuesday August 2, 2011 7:30 pm
This is a big game for both sides but more so for Atlanta. The Dream are tied with Chicago for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and despite a lot of games left on the schedule, they are all very important right now. Atlanta is coming off a loss in its last ... read more

Phoenix Mercury @ San Antonio Silver Stars Thursday July 28, 2011 12:35 pm
Two of the three highest scoring teams in the WNBA take the floor this afternoon which makes this one an easy over. Well, at least that is what the public is going to perceive and the linesmakers have made the adjustments to combat this. The first two meetings this year both flew ... read more

Connecticut Sun @ Chicago Sky Tuesday July 26, 2011 8:05 pm
This is the fourth of five meetings between Connecticut and Chicago with the home team holding serve on its home floor through the first three games thus far. The home/road dichotomies of these two teams are come of the most extreme in the WNBA as they are a combined 14-2 at home ... read more

Chicago Sky @ Indiana Fever Thursday July 21, 2011 7:00 pm
Indiana flopped for us on Tuesday as it lost in Atlanta which was its third straight loss. The last two losses came on the road so a return home should get the Fever going once again as they are 7-2 at home this season and they have defeated the Sky in the last nine home meetings ... read more

We will keep this one short and sweet as it goes off at noon ET. Indiana is coming off a loss in its last game at Connecticut and it has actually lost two straight games following a home loss against Minnesota. Prior to that the Fever had won seven straight games and we have to go ... read more

Los Angeles Sparks @ San Antonio Silver Stars Tuesday July 12, 2011 8:00 pm
The Sparks have a new coach after Jennifer Gillom following five straight losses on this roadtrip. While that could help motivate the team to try and snag its first road win of the season, it will not be enough to try and improve a defense that has been abysmal of late. The Sparks ... read more

Minnesota Lynx @ Tulsa Shock Thursday June 30, 2011 8:05 pm
We are catching great value in this total. The first meeting this season just over three weeks ago had a closing total of 166.5 and even though it stayed well under the number, this is a drastic decrease from that. Both teams have been up and down with their totals and are a combined ... read more

Los Angeles Sparks @ Connecticut Sun Tuesday June 28, 2011 8:00 pm
Los Angeles has not gotten off to a very good start on its roadtrip as it is 0-2 which has dropped it to 0-3 on the season. The home team has been money in all of its games, going a perfect 7-0 as well as a 6-1 record against the number. All three road losses have been by double-digits ... read more
