ATS: Atlanta Dream -6 (-110)
LOSS for -5 unit(s)

New York Liberty at Atlanta Dream

This is a big game for both sides but more so for Atlanta. The Dream are tied with Chicago for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and despite a lot of games left on the schedule, they are all very important right now. Atlanta is coming off a loss in its last game at Connecticut but prior to that it had reeled off five straight wins which has gotten it back into the playoff picture. After a 1-4 start at home, the Dream are 4-1 over their last five home games to even their record at .500.

The Liberty are three games behind conference leader Indiana and they are sitting in pretty decent shape at third place in the East. This is obviously a big game for New York as well as it has lost three of its last five games with the two wins coming against Washington and Tulsa, the worst teams in their respective conferences and posting a combined record of 4-31. Atlanta is in revenge mode tonight following getting hammered in New York by 22 points just under three weeks ago.

Part of the reason for the Atlanta surge has been the play of Angel McCoughtry. She was slowed early in the season because of a left knee injury but she has been the best player in the league of late as she is averaging 32.0 ppg on 50.6 percent shooting from the floor in her last four games. The revenge factor also brings in a strong situation. Play on favorites in the second half of the season revenging a double-digit loss, with a winning percentage between 40 and 49 percent. This situation is 21-4 ATS (84%) over the last five seasons. 10* (652) Atlanta Dream

Chicago Sky @ Indiana Fever Thursday July 21, 2011 7:00 pm
Indiana flopped for us on Tuesday as it lost in Atlanta which was its third straight loss. The last two losses came on the road so a return home should get the Fever going once again as they are 7-2 at home this season and they have defeated the Sky in the last nine home meetings ... read more

Los Angeles Sparks @ San Antonio Silver Stars Tuesday July 12, 2011 8:00 pm
The Sparks have a new coach after Jennifer Gillom following five straight losses on this roadtrip. While that could help motivate the team to try and snag its first road win of the season, it will not be enough to try and improve a defense that has been abysmal of late. The Sparks ... read more

Minnesota Lynx @ Tulsa Shock Thursday June 30, 2011 8:05 pm
We are catching great value in this total. The first meeting this season just over three weeks ago had a closing total of 166.5 and even though it stayed well under the number, this is a drastic decrease from that. Both teams have been up and down with their totals and are a combined ... read more

San Antonio Silver Stars @ Atlanta Dream Sunday June 26, 2011 3:00 pm
Atlanta won on Tuesday as it took care of Chicago to register its first home win of the season. The Dream then followed that up with a dud on Friday as it lost at home against Phoenix as both offense and defense were horrendous. They are just 1-4 at home on the season and have yet ... read more
