Florida Gators at Kentucky Wildcats

First place is on the line in the SEC tonight. Even though a Florida win would still have it a half-game back from Kentucky, the all-important head-to-head win would go a lot further. The Gators have won seven straight games since a loss at Tennessee back at the start of January. The defense has led the charge as the Gators have not allowed 70 points or have allowed the opponent to shoot higher than 44 percent from the floor during this streak. They are more than capable to keep it going.

Kentucky is no doubt playing sensational basketball right now and after a horrible start to the season spread-wide, it has covered four straight and five of six heading into this one. The Wildcats have won 15 straight games and they have a 48-game home winning streak which is currently best in the country and all of this leads to an inflated line. While winning here is far from easy, the pressure is on the young Wildcats which have not played a team this talented since losing to Indiana back in December.

Florida is 2-0 under head coach Billy Donovan when playing against the top ranked team in the country so there will be intimidation factor for the Gators. They have gotten the job done in Lexington as well while six of the last eight meetings at Rupp Arena have been decided by single digits. The three-point shooting will go a long way here as the Gators lead the SEC in three-pointers made with 10.5 per game and three-point shooting at 40 percent. They have made 10 or more three-pointers in 16 games this season.

The Wildcats are coming off a road thumping of South Carolina, their third straight win by 20 or more points. The last one sets Florida up in a great situation as we play against favorites that are coming off a road win by 20 points or more, in a game involving two teams with winning percentages greater than .800.
