Kent State Golden Flashes at Central Michigan Chippewas

15* graded play on Central Michigan as they host Kent State set to start at 7:07 PM ET.  My proprietary sports handicapping database and simulator shows a high probability CMU will lose this game by five or fewer points and have an excellent opportunity to get a valuable home upset win. The line has been backed all day by Kent State bettors and has reached an extreme threshold. These are why they are called late breaking as when the public exceeds the 78% betting level at the 12 books I monitor, it can produce a possible play on the opposite team. In this case it has. The sim shows a high probability that Kent State will shoot less than 46% from the field. In past games, CMU is a solid 39-22 ATS (+14.8 Units) in home games when their opponents make 40% to 46% of their shots in a game since 1997. CMU is 13-4 ATS (+8.6 Units) after trailing their last two games by 10+ points at the half since 1997. One of the dominant reason the public is all over Kent State is that CMU has lost five straight games and gone just 1-4 ATS in those games. So, in simplest terms, the herd mentality sees CMU playing at this sub-level indefinitely and the consensus becomes grossly over exaggerated. I strongly believe this to be the case of this game. Take CMU and get the current line of five points, but you may get 5 ½ as game time approaches. At the end of the day, I think CMU can win this game so it doesn’t matter what your line is, but it doesn’t hurt trying to get the best available.
