Detroit is 6-0 straight-up and against-the-spread over the past 5 seasons when facing an elimination game at home. Rip Hamilton is going to be in the line-up tonight after hyper-extending his elbow Wednesday. He has had two days of therapy.

I agree with Pistons’ coach Flip Saunders when he said “our players are upset….we have a good mind-set”. Detroit is an enigma of a team. They are one of the most difficult teams to beat when they have the right mind-set. They are close to the opposite when they don’t have the right mind-set.
<p>
A couple of good things for Detroit happened in Game 5 even though they lost. Chauncey Billups got back on track with 26 points and Rasheed Wallace hit 6 of 9 from downtown. Detroit has eliminated any second-string point guard for Boston through their traps and presses. Sam Cassell and Eddie House are virtually out of the line-up. That puts a lot of weight on Rajon Rondo who shot 3 of 14 in Game 5. Boston needs a fourth scorer behind their Big 3. Kendrick Perkins stepped up getting 18 points and 16 rebounds. This was mainly a result of good penetration by Boston and Perkins getting some bunnies and short shots due to Detroit rotating over.
