Philadelphia Phillies at New York Yankees
World Series Total of the Year: Game 6 Over.
NY was a dominant 57-24 at home during the regular season in their new Yankee Stadium. This park is small, a homer-happy place which only aided their All-Star lineup. Now they come home after scoring 21 runs in 7 games in Philadelphia -- which means they pick the DH back up for this game. 38-year old Pedro Martinez was able to throw pretty well in Game 2, but his fastball is long gone and he still allowed 3 runs in 6 innings. NY is playing with so much offensive confidence since then. We also don't know what 37-year old Andy Pettitte (4.16 ERA) will have on 3 days rest. Look for another offensive show between these powerful offensive teams and suspect bullpens. Play the Phillies/NY Yankees Game 6 over the total.
Jim Feist MLB Baseball Past Picks
Los Angeles Dodgers @ San Diego Padres Thursday July 29, 2010 6:35 pm
The Dodgers and Padres have 11 more games to play this season and that allows the Dodgers plenty of opportunity to get back in the race. The Dodgers have done well against the Padres, winning six of the last eight after losing Wednesday's game. The Dodgers will go with Vincente Padilla ... read more

Florida Marlins @ San Francisco Giants Thursday July 29, 2010 3:45 pm
What a wild game on Wednesday between these clubs. The Giants jumped out to an early 7-1 lead and led 9-2 heading into the 7th inning. With one of the best pitching staffs in baseball you would think a seven run lead would be safe. But the Marlins scored five in the seventh and two ... read more

Atlanta Braves @ Washington Nationals Thursday July 29, 2010 12:35 pm
The Braves pitching just overpowered the Nationals on Wednesday as Tim Hudson allowed just one run over 7 2/3 innings as the 1st place Braves won, 3-1. The Nationals are not expected to get rookie phenom Stephen Strasburg pitching for at least a few days, that means Scott Olsen will ... read more

St. Louis Cardinals @ New York Mets Wednesday July 28, 2010 7:10 pm
The Mets have really dropped back in the NL East, now trailing the Braves by 7 1/2 games and only Washington behind them. The Mets returned home after a terrible road trip which saw the club go 2-9! They hit just .196 and scored 23 runs during the 11 game trip. The Mets are hoping ... read more

Atlanta Braves @ Washington Nationals Wednesday July 28, 2010 7:05 pm
The Braves look to string some wins together after alternating wins/losses the last six games. Still, the Braves hold the second biggest lead among first place division clubs. As for the last place Nationals, the only time anyone seems to take notice these days is when rookie phenom ... read more

Chicago Cubs @ Houston Astros Wednesday July 28, 2010 2:05 pm
The Chicago Cubs have been playing very well since the break. Lou Pinella has already announced his retirement and maybe the Cubs 9 1/2 deficit is too great to make up, but they still have given some excitement back to Chicago fans. So what has marked this resurgence? Well ... read more

Florida Marlins @ San Francisco Giants Tuesday July 27, 2010 10:15 pm
This road trip will go a long way to determining if the Marlins can get back into the NL East race. After a 7-3 run they trail first place Atlanta by eight games and are 6 1/2 back in the Wild Card chase. The bad news for the Marlins is that the Giants are just as hot as the Marlins ... read more

Minnesota Twins @ Kansas City Royals Tuesday July 27, 2010 8:10 pm
The Twins have climbed back to within one game of the Whites Sox as they start their series at KC. The Twins can thank a 7-3 run coupled with a White Sox 4-6 slump. The Twins have been hitting the ball very well, batting a MLB tops .326 in 11 games since the All Star break. KC isn't ... read more

Atlanta Braves @ Washington Nationals Tuesday July 27, 2010 7:05 pm
I guess that rookie phenom Stephen Strasburg has made a believer out of me. All this 22-year old has done is go 3-0 his last three starts with a 2.04 ERA, 5 BB's and 22 KO's!!! On the season Strasburg is 5-2 with a 2.32 ERA and has 75 KO's in 54 1/3 innings. The only knock about ... read more

Boston Red Sox @ Los Angeles Angels Monday July 26, 2010 10:05 pm
Reason: The Angels pulled off the first big trade before the deadline, acquiring pitcher Dan Haren from Arizona. I'm a bit surprised though by this move. The Angels are really in need of more offense at this point and not more pitching. They play in one of the tougher hitter parks ... read more
