Phoenix Mercury at Washington Mystics

4 Unit Play.  Take Washington Mystics -3.5 over Phoenix Mercury (Thursday @ 7pm est).  What!  Phoenix Mercury as dogs on the road?  Too ez!  Not so fast, we went against the Mercury when they faced the Silver Stars on the road recently (we barely covered), but we covered nonetheless as the Mercury fell to 0-2 on the road.  The Mercury have never really been a solid road team and more importantly a solid road cover.  The Mystics have earned respect quickly in the league for their 2009 team as they are 4-1 with their only loss coming at Atlanta in what was a revenge for Atlanta.  Besides that, one has to be impressed with the Mystics ability to defeat the Sun on the road by 12, defeat the Shock on the road by 6, defeat the Dream at home when they were hot and recently defeat a very good Chicago Sky team. With Alana Beard leading the way (dropping 31 points in her last game), this team is 4-1, has depth with Chasity Melvin and Lindsey Harding.  I look for the Mystics to tack on another win here as the Mercury likely continue to struggle on the road (although look for the Mercury to pound someone when they return home after this tough road trip). The Mystics are 4-0 ATS against a team with a straight up winning record (showing up against the better teams in the league) and the Mercury are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games.
