Baltimore Ravens at New England Patriots

New England was controlling their game against Baltimore earlier in the season much more than the final score and end of the game indicated.  The Ravens had a chance to win outright in that game but it was because of a fumble returned for a touchdown.  Otherwise they just scored 14 points on offense.  New England matches up very well against Baltimore.  The strength of the Patriots defense is their ability to stop the run, and Baltimore prefers to run the ball for a majority of their offense.  The Ravens don’t have the aerial attack capable of exploiting a weak New England secondary.  Meanwhile, New England will be able to exploit the poor Baltimore pass defense.  The weakness on the Ravens is their secondary, and Tom Brady was able to have success moving the ball against them earlier in the season.  Not having Wes Welker is a huge blow to the Patriots, but Julian Edelman is a decent replacement and now has played better throughout the season.  I think Welker’s absence will be a much bigger problem in their next game than this game.  Look for New England to get the win and point spread cover at home.
