Montreal Canadiens at New York Islanders

4-unit Play Take #8 New York Islanders over Montreal Canadiens (7:05pm EST) On the surface we have two fairly evenly-matched teams in tonight's game between the New York Islanders and Montreal Canadiens. However, a closer look yields several reasons why the Isles are the play in this one. This New York team is young and I've seen them progressing well throughout the season and getting better and better each game. They've seemed to really put things together following the break, going 3-0-1 with the three victories all on the road. This team lacked some confidence early on in the season, but you can definitely start to see better chemistry and inspired play on the ice lately. On top of that, goaltender Evgeni Nabokov should be in the net tonight and he has been red hot over the last couple of weeks. He's coming off an impressive victory over a high-powered Philadelphia team that put 45 shots on goal without a single one getting through. In his last 9 starts, he has a miniscule 1.33 goals against average. The Canadiens are only 6-15 in their last 21 games as an underdog and have struggled away from home recently (1-6 in their last seven). The Islanders are playing better right now and are riding a hot goalie, so the price is very fair.
