Toronto Raptors at Boston Celtics

Free NBA Pick for Wednesday from Doc’s Sports. #705 Take Toronto/Boston UNDER 173 (7:30 p.m. EST, Wednesday) This is the lowest total of the season so far – and for good reason. This one has the possibility to end up in the 160s and that is probably where this total should be although an NBA total in the 160s is pretty much unheard of. These are two of the strongest under teams in the NBA (25-14-3 combined mark for the under). Toronto has improved defensively this season but this team is absolutely horrid offensively and they are now missing their best scorer and best overall player in Andrea Bargnani and they average almost double digits fewer in points per game with him out of the lineup. The outlook, then, is not good against a Boston team that allows an amazing 82.7 PPG at home. They have been playing even better than those numbers indicate. Toronto averages 87 PPG on the road and we just don’t see any way they get out of the 70s tonight. Boston has their own struggles on offense and this is not a team that is going to threaten to get to the century mark on a nightly basis. Against a stout Toronto defense we think 90 is about their ceiling tonight. These teams met once this season and Boston held Toronto to 73 points. We don’t see them doing much better tonight.
