St. Louis Cardinals at Texas Rangers

3-unit Play Take St. Louis Cardinals/Texas Rangers UNDER 8 (8:05pm EST) With the World Series tied at two games each, Game 5 is without question the most important game that these two teams have played all season. With the spotlight on, there aren't two other pitchers from their roster that these teams would rather have on the mound than Chris Carpenter and C.J. Wilson. They have been the team's aces all year long and have come up big when needed. Carpenter was brilliant in the decisive Game 5 against the Phillies in the National League Divisional Series, pitching a complete game shutout to get the Cardinals to the next round. He's been the team's stopper for years and relishes in difficult situations. Wilson has been inconsistent in the playoffs but stepped up for several big games during the regular season and has plenty of postseason experience. I expect both of them to pitch their best today and keep the respective lineups at bay. There's no question that the bullpen arms will be ready if they do happen to falter early on, and that's another reason that I expect runs to be hard to come by. Both of these pens have been lights out during the postseason and have put out fires when necessary. Big games in the postseason with big name pitchers generally go towards the Under and it's the only play you can make in this one.
