New York Jets at San Diego Chargers

At 4:40 pm, our selection is on the San Diego Chargers minus the points over the New York Jets.  Both New York and San Diego come into this game on Sunday afternoon playing good football.   New York has won (and covered) six of its last seven games, while San Diego has won 11 straight (going 7-3-1 ATS).  Even though the Jets are on a bit of a roll, and have a very good defense (they've held their last seven foes to 15 points or less), I won't step in front of Philip Rivers and the Chargers' offense, which has scored 20+ points in every game this season.  Rivers ranked 3rd in the NFL this season with a 104.4 passer rating, and he completed 65.2% of his throws for 4254 yards, and 28 TDs.  And he'll have a big advantage in the "experience" department, as his Jets counterpart, Mark Sanchez, is a rookie playing just his second playoff game.  Sanchez threw 20 interceptions this season (compared to just nine for Rivers), and if the Jets fall behind (which I think they will), I question whether Sanchez will be able to make the necessary plays to lead them back.  Finally, it's worth noting that ...[systems and analysis deleted from this results page, as that valuable info goes only to those who purchased this selection]... are a poor 36.1 ATS on the road in the Playoffs since 1980.  And ...[systems and analysis deleted from this results page, as that valuable info goes only to those who purchased this selection]... are 68% ATS in the Playoffs.  With the Jets in off a 24-14 win over the Bengals, we'll fade the Flyboys on Sunday.  Take San Diego.  Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.
