Navy Midshipmen at Missouri Tigers

At 3:30 pm, our selection is on Navy + the points over Missouri.  Over the last 19 years, no team has been a better "road warrior" than Navy, as the Midshipmen are an incredible 81-38 ATS when playing away from home, including 5-1 ATS in College Bowl games.  Additionally, Navy falls into a 63.4 percent ATS Bowl system of mine based on the following statistical profile of Missouri and Navy:  Missouri is primarily a passing team, as it throws for 285 ypg, with 7.8 passing yards per attempt; and it rushes for 132 ypg, on 3.8 yards per rush.  In contrast, Navy prefers to move the ball on the ground, and rushed for 272 ypg (on 4.7 ypr), while throwing for a mere 71 yards (9.7 passing yards per attempt).  The Midshipmen are led by QB Ricky Dobbs, who set an NCAA single-season record for most rushing TDs by a Quarterback with 24.  And that stat came in an injury-shortened season for Dobbs, who missed two games in the middle of the year with a knee injury.  Missouri failed to cover six of its last eight games and, unlike Navy, has been a big money-burner away from home.  And, if Missouri is away from home, and matched up against a non-conference foe off a win, it has covered just 36% over the past 30 seasons.  Look for Navy to get the ATS win.  Take the points.  Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.
