Photo_nba At 8 pm, our selection is on the Boston Celtics plus the points over Cleveland, as Boston falls into a 76-31 ATS system of mine. In Game 5, Boston fell behind 43-29 to Cleveland with 3:50 remaining in the 2nd Quarter, but was dominant the rest of the way, outscoring the Cavs 67-46. The key was that Boston got back to playing Celtic basketball. Players were flashing through the middle, and cutting; extra passes were made to a more wide-open teammate; and even Ray Allen eschewed long-range jumpers by taking the ball to the rim. In contrast, Cleveland lost the lead because it quit moving the ball, and instead became stagnant on offense, with a lot of 1-on-1 basketball. The result was a poor 3rd quarter in which the Cavs scored just 17 points. Will the Cavs rebound here, and stave off elimination? Will this year's trend of home teams winning in the Quarterfinals (now 20-1 straight up) continue? I don't think so, as I look for the MUCH BETTER team -- the Celtics -- to finally silence their critics and break through with their first road playoff win. They dominated Wednesday's game from the end of the 2nd quarter, and I look for a continuation of that tonight. Take the points. Good luck as always....Al McMordie.
