Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavaliers

At 8 pm, our selection is on the Cleveland Cavaliers plus the points over Boston. The Cavs lost by 16 points on Thursday, 89-73, at Boston, and off that defeat, fall into a 38-7 ATS system of mine that plays on certain .593 (or worse) home teams off a double-digit road playoff loss who are matched up against .550 (or better) foes. This particular system has already cashed twice this season, winning with Atlanta over Boston in Game 6 of that series, and Philly over Detroit in the 3rd game of their series. Boston has struggled on the road in this year's playoffs, losing all three games against a mediocre Atlanta squad. Take Cleveland in Game 3.

At 5:05 pm, our selection is on the Detroit Pistons over the Orlando Magic. The Magic won Game 3 by 25 points, 111-86, but perhaps Detroit's worst loss in that game was when Chauncey Billups left the game with a hamstring injury. Billups is questionable to play on Saturday, but Detroit has come a long way from the 2005 finals (vs. San Antonio) where the Pistons suffered because they had to use an overwhelmed Carlos Arroyo at back-up point guard. But general manager Joe Dumars has done an excellent job over the past three years to strengthen Detroit's bench, and now guys like Rodney Stuckey can come in and provide quality minutes. Indeed, Stuckey scored 19 points filling in for Billups on Wednesday. So, even though he's not in Billups' class, I'm not overly concerned -- and especially since Orlando's point guard, Jameer Nelson has bouts with inconsistency, himself. Take the better team, Detroit, plus the points on Saturday.
