Minnesota Twins at Chicago White Sox

At 8:10pm ET our selection is on the Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox 'over' the total. Both the Twins and Sox were supposed to be in rebuilding mode in 2008 and neither was expected to contend for a division title. But this is the AL Central, where anything seems to be possible. This season, there was supposed to be a coronation of the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central with perhaps the Indians giving them the only real competition on their way to an almost certain postseason. But a little more than a month into the '08 season, and the Torii Hunter-less Twins find themselves surprisingly in first place, with (almost as surprising) the Chicago White Sox only two games back in second. Probably most shocking however is that the aforementioned mighty Tigers are currently pulling up the rear of the division with a 14-19 record and are four games out of first. One of the big reasons that the AL central seems to be upside down right now is the surprising offense of both of these teams facing each other tonight. The Twins have the third-highest team batting average in the league and the Sox are first in team homers with 38. There hasn't been any lack of runs scored when these two teams have met in Chicago of late, as in the last six games between these two in the windy city, a total of 80 runs have been scored, or an average of over 13 runs per game.
