Atlanta Hawks at Indiana Pacers
I'm laying the small number with INDIANA. The Pacers are a perfect 4-0 SU/ATS the last four times that they hosted the Hawks. I feel that they'll improve on those numbers this evening. The Hawks got off to a great start. However, they've now lost three in a row, including back to back losses vs. the Nets, a team which didn't make the playoffs last season and a team which Indiana just beat twice the previous week. Note that the Hawks are just 2-6 SU/ATS the last eight times they were road underdogs of three points or less. Its also worth mentioning that the Hawks, who have a divisional game vs. Washington on deck tommorrow, are just 6-12 SU/ATS the last 18 times that they played the front end of back to back games.
Unlike their guests, the Pacers don't play tomorow. In fact, after tonight, they don't play until Friday. They also haven't played since Saturday. That means that they should be giving the Hawks their full attention tonight. Note that Indiana is 22-13-1 ATS since 2006 when playing with two day's rest in between games.
The Hawks, who are currently missing Josh Smith, have allowed more than 100 points in four straight games, allowing an average of more than 111 per game over that stretch. Atlanta coach Mike Woodson had this to say: "We've lost some of our defensive swagger, intensity or whatever you want to call it." He went on to say: "We've still got a couple key guys out. They're a big part of what we do." Look for the Pacers to take advantage of their short-handed guests, continuing their homecourt dominance in this series. *Annihilator
