I'm taking the points with DALLAS. The Lakers have admittedly gotten off to a very strong start and are playing well on both sides of the ball. That being said, the lines on their games are now getting too high and they've had real trouble here at Dallas. Indeed, the Lakers are just 1-4 their last five visits here and the lone victory came by two points. Tonight, they'll take on a Dallas team which is currently under-valued and which comes in desperate to avoid losing its first three home games in more than a decade. Note that despite this season's 0-2 start, the Mavs remain a highly impressive 73-16 since the start of the 2006 season.
The Mavs lost by 11 on the road last time out. That marked their third double-digit loss already this season. They've responded very well to those losses though, bouncing back with a 10-point win at Minnesota and a 17-point win at San Antonio. Looking back further and we find the Mavs are an impressive 19-8 the last 27 times they were coming off a double-digit loss. During the same stretch, they've gone 10-5 (11-4 ATS) in 15 games against teams which were allowing 91 points or less. Look for the Mavs to rise to the occasion and play their best game of the season tonight. *annihilator
