New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays

Photo_mlb I'm playing on the Jays and Yankees to finish UNDER the total. These teams played a high-scoring game against each other yesterday afternoon. That wasn't typical though and I expect this afternoon's game to result in a "pitcher's duel." Yesterday's result notwithstanding, the Yankees have still seen the UNDER go a highly profitable 21-8-1 the last 30 times that they played during the afternoon. The UNDER also remains a solid 6-3 the last nine series meetings and 3-1 the last four meetings here at Toronto.

While Burnett has been inconsistent this season, he's capable of being dominant when he's "on his game." That's been the case more often that not when he's faced the Yankees, particularly recently. Indeed, his last three starts against New York have seen Burnett allow a mere three earned runs in 21 innings. That's a 1.29 ERA! Not surprisingly, all three games fell below the number. That includes a 2-1 win for the Jays the last time that Burnett faced the Yankees here at Toronto.

Pettitte has also been solid against the Jays recently, as he has allowed three earned runs or less in four straight starts against them. During that 4-game stretch he allowed eight runs in 26 innings. That works out to a highly respectable 2.77 ERA. More importantly, the UNDER was a perfect 4-0 in those games. Pettitte has also been an "under-machine" when pitching on the road this season. In fact, the UNDER is 8-1 (or 7-1-1) in his nine starts away from New York. Overall, Pettitte has allowed one earned run or less in four of his last six starts and the UNDER was a perfect 6-0 during that stretch. Look for this afternoon's game to be lower-scoring than expected once again. *blue chip
