Detroit Shock at Washington Mystics
Washington was terrible yesterday at New York, which allowed my play on the Liberty to be easily won. Today they have a b2b game against Detroit. Even though naturally Washington will try to bounce back today, the truth is that the opponent for today's b2b game couldn't have been worse, as Detroit is a physical team and with the Mystics coming tired for this game, the edge of Detroit in the paint will be huge. The Shock defeated Chicago in their last game but by just 3 points, after leading the game by 23 points during the ballgame. The team allowed Chicago to comeback in the game, so they won't come to this game happy with their performance in their last game.
"In New York, it was a lot about running out of gas," Shock coach Bill Laimbeer said, "but today, we just got selfish. We were taking shots with an 18-point lead that we should never have taken."
Something which will make Detroit be fired up today is that they have lost their last four road games and their last defeat at NY happened after they leaded the game by 18 points. The team defeated last week the Mystics at home without any problems by 79-66, in which Washington just scored 18 points in the paint. Detroit has won 4 of the last 5 games against Washington and today they have everything to do it again. The question of this game being a b2b game for Washington, especially being an away-home game will make the Mystics struggle and they will face Detroit in a terrible spot for them.
