New York Liberty at Houston Comets

Today we have a good game in perspective, with the Comets receiving the Liberty. Curiously these two teams were probably the hottest teams in the league before the Olympics break and now with the re-start of the league, both teams have lost the two games they have already played. More than that. They lost the games and they weren't able to be competitive at all. It's obvious we expect both teams to be fired up for today and trying to improve the image they left in the previous games.

As this should be a ballgame, I expect the game to have points until the very end with free throws and both teams easily reaching the 70 points mark. The Comets scored 49 and 65 points to Seattle and Sacramento in terrible offensive games. However most of that lack of success comes from their star Tina Thompson, who shot 2-10 FG in the first game and 5-13 FG in the second game, but she was limited with fouls early in the game. Houston has almost 80 ppg at home and after two bad games, I expect a good response from them today.

I expect the same for the Liberty, who scored 60 and 69 points in their last two games, not being able to shoot at least 40% FG in any of these games. I also expect a response from them today. The Liberty has been an "over" team this season, with a 11-3 Over record and they come from two humiliating losses, which is the type of situation the team uses to respond well in the following game, as they are 9-2 Over off a road loss by 10 points over the last 2 seasons. Also the Liberty are 9-1 Over in road games when playing with 3 or more days rest over the last 2 seasons.

So, this game should be a ballgame and with both teams coming in bounce back mode, I expect this game to come close to the 150 points mark and don't be surprised if there are a lot of points right at the end of the game from the free throw line.
