The key for this game and for this series I've already explained it in the Game 5, where we picked Detroit: "the Sixers have showed that they can be competitive in both at home and on the road in this series, but there are moments where a series changes completely and everything a team did in four games don't count that much." I'm talking about to the 2nd half of the Game 4 of this series where Detroit won at Philly by 93-84. In that game the Sixers were up by 46-36 at half time and they were leading the series by 2-1, so an eventual win would put them with a big edge over Detroit to get the series. But the Pistons came back after the half time and played their best basketball in a long time, making a run of 57-38 in the 2nd half, with 34-16 in the 3rd quarter, where they made five 3pts shots and showed how mentally tough they are in situations of high pressure. Detroit has the momentum right now.
The Sixers are a very competitive team especially in the defense, but once Detroit found their scoring touch, the Sixers wouldn't stand a chance and that was what has been happening in this series since the 2nd half of the Game 4. Like I've been saying on my picks on this series, the Sixers can't shoot from the 3pts line and they shot 2-7 3pts in the Game 5, so their attack is too predictable and easy to stop and everything would depend from the offensive of Detroit. That was the turning point of this series. Not only Detroit scored 57 points in the 2nd half of the Game 4, as they have scored 98 points in the Game 5, with 79 points in the first three quarters of the game. I told you that the matchup between Billups and Miller would be the key factor for this series. And since Billups was able to perform well, Detroit would have a big edge on this series and that happened. Billups shot in the Game 5 7-14 FG 3-6 3pts, with 12 assists and 21 points, while Miller just shot 5-17 FG and just made 3 assists. The other players from the Pistons were also great in the offensive end: Hamilton shot 10-17 FG, Prince 8-14 FG and Sheed 8-12 FG.
With Detroit playing like this is almost impossible for the Sixers to stop them right now, so that's why I expect tonight a good win for the Pistons close to double digits points. Take Detroit in here.
