Orlando Magic at Detroit Pistons

Game 2 of this series today with Detroit up by 1-0 right now. If you remember I took Detroit -6,5 in the Game 1 and we were well succeeded. My explanation for that game was that Detroit was coming with a great momentum from their series against the Sixers and it would be hard for Orlando to stop that momentum playing on the road. This resulted in Detroit winning the first game of the series by 91-72, so the question we have for today is that Detroit's momentum will disappear in just two days. I don't think so and only at Orlando the Magic may have a chance to stop this momentum. I've explained that Orlando would have a lot of problems in the 3pts shooting, which is one of the strongest weapons of the team, as Detroit defends extremely well man to man and it becomes very hard for Orlando to get any open shots. Detroit was the second best team in the regular season in defending 3pts shots and that became clear in the Game 1 of this series, as Orlando only shot 2-15 from the 3pts line.

Orlando decided to enter the physical game of Detroit and they were clearly outplayed. Actually there are very few teams that can beat Detroit with this type of basketball and Orlando isn't clearly one of them. In the Game 1 it's important to say that Detroit was capable of stopping Howard, as the superman only made 12 pts and 8 boards. Howard also showed what Detroit can expect from him in the charity line, as he only shot 2-7 FT. So during a ballgame Detroit has a big edge, as they can simply foul Howard. However the most important factor and which proves how Detroit is playing so well right now has to go with their fantastic ball movement. 21 assists and just 6 turnovers say it all about the quality of the team right now, with 4 of the 6 turnovers were made in the second quarter.

For this game Detroit brings a big psychological edge over Orlando and they will take advantage of that. Orlando will need to regroup and try to think about winning the games at Orlando, because how Detroit is playing right now, this series may become a walk in the park for the Pistons.
