I'm extremely thorough in my research, analysis and decision-making. I never cut corners, and always strive to do my best.
My Handicapping Experience
15 years
My Special Achievments in Handicapping
In 2007, I won the $100K World Series of Sports Handicapping & also finished No. 1 in March Madness. In 2004, I won the most prestigious handicapping contest in Las Vegas - The Stardust Invitational. Overall, in the last 15 years, I have garnered 34 No. 1 awards in Sports Handicaping and 133 Top 5 finishes with 250 Top 10 finishes.
My Most Memorable Moment
In 2000, I was 157-114 in football, including 10-0 (100%) in the NFL Playoffs. I have won 12 of my last 15 football seasons. Another highlight of my career came in 1997 when I was ranked No. 1 by Sports Watch in College Football/NFL Win Percentage and No. 1 in College Football Regular Season/Bowls by The Sports Monitor. I have one of the best basketball records over the past 15 seasons, and was ranked No. 1 in baseball for the 1996 and 2001 seasons.
Biggest Win of my Career
I wagered $28,600 on the Vikings against the Giants in their 1997 Playoff game.
Toughest Loss of my Career
I lost $22,000 on Ohio State over Michigan in 1997.
Favorite Team(s) to Play or Fade
I'm a San Antonio Spurs fan, and watch every one of their games, so I'm very much in tune with how they might play (good or bad). I avoid Ivy League games in college basketball.
What You Can Expect From Me
For consistency across all three sports I handicap, you can count on me. The Las Vegas Sporting News recognized me in its December 17, 1996 issue, and wrote that: "[Al's] honesty, integrity, [and] skills...are obvious....We have been impressed by [his] uncanny ability to pick big underdogs that win the game straight-up....We've seen handicappers come and go, and get hot and cold, but no one has been as consistent over time as McMordie, and we strongly urge you to consider him as your handicapper."
