About Ben Burns
Burns was 5-1 last Friday and he cashed his "Non-Conference TOW" by more than 50 points. Ben followed up that with a double-digit winner with his Eastern Conference Total of the Month!
My Handicapping and Betting Philosophy
I believe that there truly is no substitute for hard work and therefore log extremely long hours. I don't rely on any single handicapping methodology. However, I do pay particular attention to motivational and situational factors.
My Handicapping Experience
I came onto the sports betting scene in the 1990s, first making my selections available to the public in 1998. Now entering my tenth year, I have become one of the most successful and well-respected handicappers on the internet. From 1998 to 2006, I had my selections documented by the Big Guy Sports Monitor. During that time, I accumulated numerous seasonal titles in all the major sports. In fact, competing against a field of 150, My NFL selections still rank as #1 of all-time there. With such a commanding lead over the field, it is highly unlikely that my all-time NFL record there will ever be matched. Like all handicappers, I go through both hot and cold streaks. However, whether winning or losing, I always "tell it like it is." Perhaps more importantly, as my fans are quick to point out, my winning weeks tend to greatly outnumber the losing ones. I followed up an extremely strong 2006 with an even better campaign in 2007!I am known as a "Totals Expert" and my over/under plays are highly sought after in all sports. In addition to my "total" success, my "sides" are also known for their sizzling hot streaks. While I advocate playing all of my selections equally, I have a remarkable knack for nailing the "Big" plays. I capped off a highly successful college football season by winning my Bowl Game of the Year, as Georgia executed a 41-10 wire-to-wire destruction of Hawaii. My NFL playoffs didn't go as well though and I lost my first ever Super Bowl selection, when the Patriots were upset by the Giants. Despite that rare setback, My Super Bowl record remains at 10-1 for my career. Additionally, my NFL playoff picks remain a powerful 47-22 (68%) ATS the past six years. I am not just a football expert though, as my picks in hockey, baseball AND basketball are also highly respected. I log extremely long hours and I feel my hard work clearly shows itself in my high-quality writeups and extraordinary long-term records. If you're looking for an honest, hard-working handicapper with a documented history of success, give Ben Burns a try. We're sure that you'll be impressed!
My Special Achievments in Handicapping
I finished last NFL season 77-47-1. That's 62% and more than 25 net units of profit. I finished last season 10-1 in the playoffs, for a remarkable 91% run to bring my documented record to 44-14 over my last 58 NFL playoff picks.
My Most Memorable Moment
Being 10-0 in my Super Bowl picks.
Biggest Win of my Career
I have never hit less than 50% of my NFL over/under selections. During that stretch I have gone an outstanding 174-113. Anyone that knows anything about handicapping, knows hows uncommon AND lucrative a truly unbiased nine-year 61% record is.I have also won numerous championships in college football, college basketball, baseball and hockey. I earned the No. 1 ranking in college football in 2005/2006 and finished with a 15-4 record in the NCAA Tournament the same year.
Toughest Loss of my Career
I've had some plenty of heart-breakers over my career. However, the combination of the Houston Texans and the Washington Redskins, on November 27 2005, rank among the worst. The Texans were +3.5-point home underdogs against the Rams and held a 21-point lead at halftime. Aided by an onside kick the Rams scored 10 points in the final 30 seconds of the fourth quarter to force overtime. Naturally, a rookie third-string quarterback (Ryan Fitzpatrick) threw a 56-yard touchdown in Overtime to give the Rams a six-point win. As if that loss wasn't tough enough, I also had the Redskins (also +3.5) on the same afternoon. Incredibly, mere moments later Washington also blew a lead and to also lose by a touchdown in overtime. Talk about a difficult 10 minutes!
Favorite Team(s) to Play or Fade
I have no specific favorite teams to play on or to play against. Despite not having any specific teams, I have had a great deal of success playing against over-valued teams which the betting public has fallen in love with.
What You Can Expect From Me
I am known by my peers and clients as a "workaholic" that spends 10-15 hours per day "handicapping games." I take a great deal of pride in my impeccable reputation for honesty and professionalism. All of my selections come with logical, informative and well-written analysis.
If you're looking for a consistent documented winner in ALL the major sports, you owe it yourself to check out Ben Burns today!

Ben Burns Past Picks
Los Angeles Lakers @ Utah Jazz Friday May 16, 2008 10:30 pm
I'm playing on the Jazz and Lakers to finish UNDER the number. I lost with the 'under' in Game 5 of this series but that won't stop me from pulling the trigger in Game 6. A closer look at the last game shows that the final combined score only just barely snuck above the number and ... read more
Minnesota Twins @ Colorado Rockies Friday May 16, 2008 9:05 pm
I'm laying the price with COLORADO. Its true that the Rockies have really underachieved thus far. I believe that the defending National League champs are better than their record indicates though and I expect them to make the most of the chance for a "fresh start" with the arrival ... read more
Boston Celtics @ Cleveland Cavaliers Friday May 16, 2008 8:00 pm
I'm taking the points with BOSTON. The Celtics' struggles on the road in these playoffs have been extremely well documented. That's given us excellent line value with what I expect will be an extremely determined Celtics team. Let's not forget that this team was 31-10 on the road ... read more
Cleveland Indians @ Cincinnati Reds Friday May 16, 2008 7:10 pm
I'm playing on CINCINNATI. I successfully played on the Reds in all three of their victories over the Marlins (yesterday's game was postponed) and I expect them to carry their positive momentum into this evening's "instate rivalry" vs. the Indians. I also expect them to ... read more
New Orleans Hornets @ San Antonio Spurs Thursday May 15, 2008 9:00 pm
I'm laying the points with SAN ANTONIO. Home teams have been remarkably successful in the second round of these playoffs and that's been the case in this series. Indeed, the home team has won every game by double-digits. While the Hornets have proven to be extremely tough to beat ... read more
Houston Astros @ San Francisco Giants Thursday May 15, 2008 3:45 pm
I'm laying the price with San Francisco. With a 6-3 win last night, the Astros have taken two of three in this series thus far. However, the Giants should have a significant advantage on the mound for this afternoon's "Getaway Game" and I look for them to salvage the series split. ... read more
Utah Jazz @ Los Angeles Lakers Wednesday May 14, 2008 10:30 pm
I'm playing on the Lakers and Jazz to finish UNDER the number. This series has shown a pattern of rotating from one game finishing 'under' the total to the next one finishing 'over' the total. Game 1, here at Utah, was (relatively) low-scoring with 207 points. Game 2 was high-scoring ... read more
Detroit Tigers @ Kansas City Royals Wednesday May 14, 2008 8:10 pm
I'm laying the price with DETROIT. Enough is enough. Justin Verlander and the Detroit Tigers have gotten off to extremely disappointing starts this season. The Tigers are a much better team than their record indicates though and the same goes for Verlander being a much better pitcher ... read more
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Boston Celtics Wednesday May 14, 2008 8:00 pm
I'm laying the points with BOSTON. Its been all about homecourt in this series and I expect that trend to continue this evening. The Celtics had the best homecourt defense in the league this season and they've been downright dominant here for weeks now. Indeed, they've won 12 straight ... read more
Florida Marlins @ Cincinnati Reds Wednesday May 14, 2008 7:10 pm
I'm laying the price with CINCINNATI. I've successfully backed the Reds in each of the first two games of this series and I expect them to make it three in a row this evening. The Reds lost shortstop Jeff Keppinger to injury yesterday. He'd been hitting well so the Reds are hoping ... read more
Boston Red Sox @ Baltimore Orioles Wednesday May 14, 2008 3:05 pm
I'm playing on Boston. While the Orioles come in as the hotter team, I feel that the Red Sox will get back on track with a victory this afternoon. Cabrera has pitched well of late and is coming off a strong game at KC. He's still got an ugly 6.75 ERA and 1.750 WHIP in three home ... read more
Houston Astros @ San Francisco Giants Tuesday May 13, 2008 10:15 pm
I'm laying the price with SAN FRANCISCO. With Oswalt on the mound, the Astros defeated Zito and the Giants yesterday. However, I believe that tonight's matchup will favor the home team. While he struggled at Pittsburgh last time out, the Giants are still 3-1 in Cain's last four starts ... read more
San Antonio Spurs @ New Orleans Hornets Tuesday May 13, 2008 9:30 pm
I'm playing on the Spurs and Hornets to finish UNDER the number. With a convincing win by the defending champs on Sunday, we're headed back to New Orleans all tied up at 2-2. I expect that to translate to a defensive battle. Including the playoffs, the Spurs have been underdogs 20 ... read more
Seattle Mariners @ Texas Rangers Tuesday May 13, 2008 8:05 pm
I'm playing on SEATTLE. I lost with the Mariners yesterday but am willing to come back with them again today. While the M's lost yesterday, they did show some positive signs. For starters, the offense scored 12 runs while pounding out 15 hits. That gives them 18 runs on 28 hits the ... read more
Florida Marlins @ Cincinnati Reds Tuesday May 13, 2008 7:10 pm
I'm laying the price with CINCINNATI. The Marlins have gotten off to a great start to the season. They lost yesterday though and I expect them to start to come back to earth, beginning with another loss this evening. Both starters are 5-1 on the season. However, while Hendrickson ... read more
Orlando Magic @ Detroit Pistons Tuesday May 13, 2008 7:00 pm
I'm taking the points with ORLANDO. I successfully played on the Pistons in Game 4. In my analysis of that game, I mentioned that I thought too much was being made of homecourt in this series, due to the success of the home team in the first three games and in the playoffs in general, ... read more
Boston Celtics @ Cleveland Cavaliers Monday May 12, 2008 8:00 pm
I'm playing on the Cavaliers and Celtics to finish UNDER the number. I successfully played on these teams to finish above the number in Game 3, after winning with Boston in Game 2 and the 'under' in the opening game. While the Celts have a momentarily defensive lapse, it rarely happens ... read more
Detroit Red Wings @ Dallas Stars Monday May 12, 2008 8:00 pm
I'm playing on DALLAS. Listed as very slight underdogs, I feel the value lies with the Stars here. The Stars have won four of their last five games on home ice. Those victories came against San Jose and Anaheim, two extremely good teams. Despite the loss in Game 2, the Stars remain ... read more
Toronto Blue Jays @ Cleveland Indians Monday May 12, 2008 4:05 pm
I'm playing on the Jays and Indians UNDER the total in Game 1 of this afternoon's double-header. The Jays have had trouble scoring runs lately, to say the least. They got shutout in their last game (12-0!) and they've managed just four runs in their last three games combined. Looking ... read more
New Orleans Hornets @ San Antonio Spurs Sunday May 11, 2008 8:00 pm
I'm playing on the Spurs and Hornets to finish UNDER the total. As a result of a high-scoring game on Thursday, we're now getting several extra points to work with which, in my opinion, has provided us with outstanding value on the UNDER. Just because Game 3 is high-scoring, doesn't ... read more
Los Angeles Lakers @ Utah Jazz Sunday May 11, 2008 3:30 pm
I'm playing on UTAH. The Jazz were laying -4 or -5 (depending on when and where one played) for Game 3 here and they won by five. With the popular opinion being that the Lakers can't possibly lose two in a row, we're now getting a significantly lower line on the Jazz, to the point ... read more
Baltimore Orioles @ Kansas City Royals Sunday May 11, 2008 2:10 pm
I'm laying the price with KANSAS CITY. It's true that the Orioles have the better record and it's also true that they have dominated this series. Indeed, last night's 6-5 win brought them to 12-0 their last 12 games against the Royals. However, there are several reasons why I believe ... read more
St. Louis Cardinals @ Milwaukee Brewers Sunday May 11, 2008 2:05 pm
I'm laying the price with MILWAUKEE. I don't have to look at the 'consensus sites' to predict that the majority of the betting public will be backing St. Louis this afternoon. After all, what's not to like? The Cards won yesterday. They've got the better record and their starting ... read more
New York Yankees @ Detroit Tigers Sunday May 11, 2008 1:05 pm
I'm playing on DETROIT. After the Tigers won Game 1 of this series on Friday, the Yankees returned the favor with a victory in yesterday's game. A closer look at those two games shows that Friday's game featured a pair of left-handed starters, while Saturday's featured a pair of ... read more
Boston Celtics @ Cleveland Cavaliers Saturday May 10, 2008 8:00 pm
I'm playing on the Cavs and Celtics to finish OVER the total. I've managed to go 2-0 in this series having won with the 'under' in Game 1 while cashing with the Celtics in Game 2. Like Game 1, the second contest was also an extremely low-scoring game. That has resulted in the over/under ... read more
