Why The Yankees Will Win It All Again

I'm sure just reading the title made some squirm, and some smile. The Yankees are definately a love or hate team, not too much middle ground here. There is a lot of concern about the stsrting rotation, and how they will matchup against teams with a deeper and more consistent rotation. The Bombers are basically in a quandry with starting pitching. They have Sabathia, and a prayer. One prayer could be answered by Andy Pettitte who has missed half the season, but is nearing able to start his way back again. The Yankees hope there are no setbacks and he pitches the way he was before he was sidelined. Phil Hughes started like he was headed for a huge year, and despite the great winning record, a product of the Yankee lineup, Hughes has struggled. Then their is A.J. Burnett who can't seem to get anyone out anymore, and Javier Vasquez, Dsutin Mosely, and Ivan Nova. Nova is the real deal, but Joe Girardi already said he will not start him in the post-season, as he feels it could hurt him in his process of developing. So why can I make the bold statement the Yankees will win it all? It lies in the bullpen. Quietly, the Yankees have put together what has been not only the best bullpen in baseball, but with a wow factor to go with it. The top 5 options out of the pen are now Chamberlain,Logan,Robertson,Rivera,and Wood.
Here is what they have achieved of late:
Chamberlain since July 28th 17.2 innings 10 hits 3 runs 1.53 ERA. Logan since July 18th 14.2 innings 8 hits 0 runs 0.00 ERA. Robertson since July 2nd 24 innings 14 hits 3 runs and a 1.13 ERA. Rivera since May 25th worked 37.1 innings 21 hits 3 runs 0.72 ERA. Wood since August 6th worked 15 innings 8 hits 0 runs 0.00 ERA.
The combined line of the top 5 options in the Yankee pen is 107.1 innings 61 hits 9 runs 110 K's 34 BB's just 3 HR's and an ERA of 0.75! The batting average against them is .157! rememebr this is with over 100 innings pitched.
The bottom line is the Yankees adding Ivan Nova to the pen, if he isn't starting, allows them to piece together 4-5 innings if need be to hold a team down. They have a lineup that is going to score some runs. I look for the Yankees to win it all.
