The Cowboys are without question the most talented team in the NFL. Tony Romo has turned the corner. He spent his career being known for choking down the stretch. He had no game where he passed for over 280 yards in December in his career, and speaking of December, his career numbers going into last year read 11 TD and 22 INTs in 12th month. He has righted that ship. He threw 6 TDs to 2 INTs this past season in December. The Cowboys are strong across the board on offense from RB, QB, to receivers, and the OL is adequate. They are plus at every level on defense as well, and the biggest weakness may be the man patrolling the sidelines, head coach Wade Phillips. He seems to get out-coached a lot. The talent is there for a Super Bowl appearance, but will they make it?
WASHINGTON REDSKINS

OUTLOOK:
The Redskins needed a lot of help on offense, as last year they scored 17 or less 11 times, won just 4 games to teams that had a combined 17 wins. Looks like a long way to go? The offense will change quickly behind Donovan McNabb. Mike Shanahan, eight free agent signings and McNabb are all tremendous upgrades for the Skins, but they have a long way to go. They have a tough road in a tough division, but improvements are very likely. The question is just how much? They need a big year out of McNabb, and need him to stay healthy. Shanahan has a knack to make the running game work, regardless of who is back there. I think the Redskins will surprise a lot of people, and be in the thick of things longer than most anticipate.
NEW YORK GIANTS
HEAD COACH: TOM COUGHLIN 59-44

OUTLOOK:
The Giants’ defensive woes from a year ago were addressed in the draft. They drafted four defensive players in their first four picks. That hasn’t happened in over 20 years in New York. The Giants were started 5-0 last year, and finished 3-8. It was how they finished that gets noticed, they quit. The last two weeks they were outscored by 85-16, so what next? The offense is talented and has good leadership behind Eli Manning, and actually improved year over year. The defense, however, is going to make or break this team. They did address the DB weakness by signing Antrel Rolle and Deon Grant as free agents, but is that enough? The talent is there, but the way they mailed in the last two weeks a year ago, leaves a lot of motivational questions.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES:

OUTLOOK:
The Eagles are in a division with Dallas, and to win it they have to address why Dallas brutalized them by 44 points late last season in the two matchups. It all came down to no protection for the QB, and no pressure on Romo, so the Eagles went for Brandon Graham. Graham will be a great addition at DE, and I expect him to have a say in the protection Dallas gets this time around, it will be much different. Nate Allen will also help at free safety, so the Eagles got two players that should instantly have an impact in their defensive weaknesses. The problem is going to be the offensive line, where the Eagles have not patched the holes. Kevin Kolb will take over at QB, and look for the Eagles to try and utilize a form of the west coast offense, to allow Kolb to get rid of the ball fast, and allow the talented receivers to try and run after the catch for yardage. I think the Eagles are going to drop a notch this season. Too many new parts, and too many questions on the OL.
