Mr. East's Weekly Look Inside NCAAF Title Chasers

Well the season is now 4 weeks old, and the undefeated teams went from 33 a week ago, down to 26 this week. The Non-BCS Conference teams are still carrying 6 Cinderella hopefuls, while the BCS Conferences have 20 teams holding onto the goose-egg in the loss column.

This week has just 2 guaranteed departures from the list of 26, as the YCU vs Oklahoma game loser will vanish from the list, as will the loser between the SEC showdown between Georgia and Alabama. A look at undefeated teams that may vanish from the list this week:

Nebraska (3-0) Hosts Virginia Tech, and maybe Coach Beamer without much of an offense, will pull a gadget out of his bag of tricks to stun the Cornhuskers at home

South Florida (4-0) They travel to an inspired Wolfpack team, fresh from deleting East Carolina from the list, can they make it back-to-back?

Colorado (3-0)  The Buffs look like they could be making an exit from the list, as they travel to Tallahassee to take on the Noles. They may be in the toughest spot of all here.

Wisconsin (3-0)  The Badgers travel to the Big House, where a down rebuilding Michigan team would like to make life miserable for them. Upset not likely, but the Big House carries some clout, so beware!

Minnesota (4-0) Uh oh, looks like the Gophers may be looking at loss #1, as they have to go to Columbus and take on the Buckeyes. Never an easy place to play, and hard to imagine them coming out unscathed here.

Northwestern (4-0) The Wildcats head to Iowa as more of a pretender based on a soft schedule. Although improved, and they have a legit shot here, they will likely exit this column next week.

Connecticut (4-0) Huskies almost got caught at home vs Baylor last week. Will the real Louisville please stand up? Cards unpredicatable, but at home they can be tough, and the Huskies better bring their "A" game or they will not appear here next week.

The rest of the teams appear to be safe, and should survive perfection into the following week. I predict just 20 unbeaten teams make the cut to next week.
