Big 10

Illinois vs. Purdue

The 2 Late big 10 Games have some very shady leans to speak of. First of all, we have seen time and time again that teams who get a first round bye are rusty when they come out of the bad as evidenced by Louisville going down yesterday to Pitt and I'm not saying Illlinois beats Purdue here, but with over 70% of the public on Purdue, it is tough to ignore that. Purdue is a top 25 team that beat Illinois by 7 at home and 8 on the road and Illinois comes off a nice win against Penn State a team they hadn't beat all year. I believe Purdue wins and covers as they could care less that they are public favorites, but I still cannot force myself to bet a team that is over 70% as a public favorite.

Minny vs. Indiana

Minny lost to Indiana recently on the road by 13 and at home earlier this year by 5. Now, they face a spread of 5.5 to an Indiana host team that comes raw into the tourney as they had a first round bye which is dangerous as we have already seen. Minny played well in the secnd half of their most recent game storming a come back against Northwestern and now face an Indiana team that's last game was a 4 point loss to Penn State on the road. Frankly, I can't take either Big 10 Games b/c the public is hammering both Indiana and Purdue to over 70% a piece. no thanks.

Big 12

Colorado vs. Oklahoma

I love certain conferences in College Basketball and sometimes you just have a feel for those conferences. However, one does not get a feel for those conferences until the numbers solidify and teams begin to take shape as new trends surface, this is why you only bet on wagers that you feel most comforable as you can take a wait and see approach when it come to new trends, this is true of baseball and basketball as it takes about 2-3 weeks before trends begin occuring and revenge and matchup situations take place. Having said that, I was on Colorado yesterday in their nice win against Baylor. But, does this team have a let down? Colorado lost to Baylor by 11 this year at home, but that didn't prevent them from jumping out early all over them. They won few conference games this year, but they did beat Oklahoma by 12 in one of the few games they did win. Oklahoma comes off a nice 9 point win over Missouri at home, 12 point win over Oklahoma State and a 27 point win against Texas A&M at home. Say what you want about Colorado, but I think Oklahoma's rustiness might show in the first half and Colorado hangs tough early and has a decent shot to fall inside the number.

Texas A&M vs. Kansas State

This game is in Missouri and frankly, I thought more folks from Texas A&M would be there than was, but K-State might have the edge in the crowd today, but this of course is on neutral court. Over 66% favor K-State and Beasley in this matchup. Believe it or not, I have A&M Ranked 1 spot higher on the power rankings, which is insignificant compared to K-State. A&M rebounded nicely after the blowout loss at home to Kansas by 17 on senior night. They lost to K-State by 21 on the road this year. K-State comes off a 4 point win over Iowa State on the road and are just 3-5 on the road this year and 1-4 against top 100 teams away from home. Sounds a little nuts and a bit too easy doesn't it at K-State -1.5, I think A&M wins on the ML here likely.
