IC's Sunday NBA and March Madness Preview!

This is the Research that I write daily before I make any selections.  It helps me research the card in its entirety and provide what I believe is the best, most methodical way of decision making in selecting thethe plays which have the greatest value on the card.  I do this without fail daily.  I hope this research finds you well and helps you in anyway as there is no substitute for homework and research when it comes to handicapping: 

Houston vs. San Antonio

This is the earliest game on tap tomorrow and of course, no line has arrived on it yet despite it being the first game to go off the board tomorrow. The Rockets beat this team by a bucket last time out at home over the Spurs, the Spurs look for revenge with a Yao-less Rocket team. The Rockets come off back to back wins but are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 5 ballgames. The Spurs on the other hand have covered 5 of their last 6 ballgames and sit and await on the Rockets.

Utah vs. Minny

Utah beat this team by nearly 30 points at home the last time they played them, Utah comes off a big win over the Clippers and Charlotte at home, They have not covered 3 of their last 4 road ballgames, but did beat Boston outrigt at Boston, Minny comes off a tough road trip, and frankly, I think the Twolves cover this game and have a shot at winning outright, but this is similar to the Nets vs. Suns game yesterday, I just really don't want to go against teams that are in a competitive playoff race out West such as the Nuggets for example.

New York vs. Atlanta

The Knicks and Hawks have had their battles and close games. I remember when these 2 teams met on MLK day I was at the game and saw the Knicks manage the cover and they deserved it, they played well and competitive the whole game. Atlanta is still in an incredibly tight race for the last spot in the East, New York comes off an 8 point loss to Toronto, this line should be around 9.5 imo, the Hawks come off a win but a failed cover against the Bulls, I lean on the Hawks at home, but NY should show up with some revenge here, likely going to stay away or take the over here. The Knicks did put up 95 at Toronto, I think both teams eclipse a 100 here today.

Miami vs. Boston

This line is likely to be massive, and if the Pistons line was over 20 (which the Heat covered easily), this line is likely to be around 25 for this ballgame, in essence, 3 touchdowns and a field goal. Boston beat this team by 30 with subs on the road, imagine what they might do at home, Miami has covered their last 4 straight and lost to the Pistons by 16 in their last game, they covered at New York and Charlotte while the Celtics have covered the -7 spreads against the Suns and Hornets at home. I know it's terrible to even imagine, but I think you hold your breath and take the Heat + the points here, the line will be simply too big and remember, the C's come off 2 public back to back covers, this seems like a let down spot here at home against the lowly Heat - in reference to the spread.

New Orleans vs. Toronto

Toronto did beat the Heat in their last contest, but didn't dominate them by the spread as they lost the ATS but won SU, the Hornets lost to this team by 5 at home last time, so this is a revenge game for the Hornets, the Raps are healthy now, the Horntes have played 5 straight overs on the road, they have been putting up 92 to 114 points on the road in their last 4 contests, I like the Hornets here with the revenge, they come off a 20 point loss to Detroit so they likely will be fired up today.

Philly vs. Cleveland

Cleveland is of course at Detroit tonight, and I think that Detroit likely pounds them so they will come back home not in a good mood potentially having lost 3 games in a row, Philly comes off getting beat by the Suns, so they are not in a good mood either, this line is likely to be 6.5, Philly beat this team by 6 points on the road last time, it went under, on an opening total of 191.5, I like the under here between these 2 teams, waiting for the lines.

Dallas vs. Golden State

Obviously the Warriors are playing the Nuggets tonight so we will see their mindset coming into this game, the Mavs will have been rested and waiting, This is a very important Western Conference battle as the 7th seed plays the 8th seed - the Nuggets win either way it seems as the 2 teams they are chasing - 1 wil take a loss Dallas beat this team by 21 at home back in January, these 2 teams have a big rivalry since last year's playoffs, Dallas comes off 5 straight cover losses, I like the Warriors here especially if they lose to Denver.

Sacramento vs. Seattle

[b]I'm telling you Seattle is prime for a big home win and they pushed against Charlotte, as remember, they were up in the 4th quarter against Charlotte and the Wizards onl to fall short. I think this is a game they can take outright, but the Kings do come off a loss which is irritating to the Wiz, I wish they were coming off a win, Seattle beat this team by 13 on the road last time, covering as 8.5 dogs outright on the road, the last 3 contests between these 2 teams have gone under, Seattle is 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games, I wish the Kings did not have revenge, which will probably exclude me from making this play.

Washington vs. Lakers

Obviously the Lakers have lost back to back games and I actually took Memphis ML +1133 against them in their last ballgame. Washington lost to this team 91-103 at home, so they do have revenge here, After losing on the road at Portland, Washington comes off back to back wins over the Kings and Seattle on the road. [b]Did you know if you bet 1unit against the Lakers on the ML the last 2 ballgames you would have netted 22+ Units. That means, $100 a unit could have yielded you $2200. Who said the NBA can't include ML? Should be interesting to see the line, but I lean on the Wiz here - possibly the under, the Wiz are a more defensive team than people give them credit for.

Madness Sunday College Ball Research

Davidson vs. Kansas

From playing a tight ballgame against UCLA and actually leading them by double-digits to collapsing in the second half early on, to beating Georgetown outright, to beating Wisconsin outright, to losing to NC State by 1 on the road, to barely losing to the Tarheels, to barely losing to Duke, this Davidson team can play. Now, Kansas is a very good team as well, but Davidson is a 30 game winner from last year, Davidson is a 30 game winner this year and frankly, I don't believe this team has come all this way to collapse against Kansas and I thought that playing in Detroit would affect this team away from Charlotte and they proved otherwise, I'll gladly take the points and root for the Cinderella - although they are the Southern Conference Champs and winners of 20+ games in a row.

Texas vs. Memphis

I'll be very short with this write-up, you saw how well this Memphis team plays, tack on the fact that I do not want to go against Memphis who is playing brilliantly right now, but their free throw shooting in the end will be their heel, at the same time Texas has beat this team the last 2 years they have played them in 05' by 7 points and in 06' by 11 points. Texas has scored 82, 75 and 74 points thus far in the tourney, while Memphis has scored 87, 77 and 92 points. I like the over in this game if anything but not a side.
