30 Days of Football Day 4

Each day these articles will prepare readers for the start of both the NFL and college football seasons. It is important to learn from mistakes in previous years and develop a game plan for success heading into this year. Let’s go over some strategies and/or information that will lead to a profitable football season.
When most people prepare for the up-coming football season they read popular preseason preview magazines that focus on returning starters and coaches, as well as last season’s results. However, most sports bettors just read those preview magazines and articles while failing to realize that those publications are written months prior to the season. While training camps and practices are going on, injuries happen as well as changes in the depth chart. A bettor could be surprised to find out at the start of the first game that the experienced quarterback they expected to see was injured a week ago and replaced by a freshman. Even further than the quarterback position though, teams could experience injuries on the offensive and/or defensive line in camps that force starting line-ups to be shuffled around. Just a couple of injuries can take a dominant line into an inexperienced and weak line. It is vitally important to read news articles and blogs about team practices and camps in order to get updated information on injury and depth chart information.
It is also important to read preseason articles and blogs in order to get an idea on how teams are performing heading into the first game. Sometimes teams undergoing off-season changes have a very difficult adjusting and come out struggling in their first game. While it’s hard to get a good read on how every team is going to perform in the opening game just based on reports from the preseason, it can lead to a handful of great opportunities and fade struggling teams.
Overall it is vitally important to read articles and blogs from the weeks leading up to the start of the season in regards to injuries and practices. Doing this will lead to finding great opportunities, as well as stopping a potentially losing selection based on wrong information.
